The Filthy Rotting Underbelly!
The Filthy Rotting Underbelly of the Publishing Industry!
I’ve witnessed the filthy swampy underbelly of the publishing industry, it’s hard to continue writing. I must remind myself that I write for me and not for the light-fingered Literary Agents who are selling work of aspiring writers to Netflix and Marvel without a care in the world.
If I'd starred in a movie and found out it was stolen, I'd have something to say about it.
If I had purchased a company and soon after found out the CEO is rotten to the core, I'd call a board meeting.
If I found out that my agent was a sinful thief, I’d be walking away from that relationship.
If I’d commissioned a book and the agent and writer delivered a half-hearted copy job stolen from a disadvantage aspiring writer, I’d be freezing all payments and seeking legal action.
If I were a publisher and I were handling stolen goods, I’d drop it like hot coals.
If I were a law enforcement officer and I heard of this case, I’d be escorting the agent out in handcuffs.
If I were a judge in this case, I’d be considering lengthy prison sentences for the agent and fake writer.
If I worked for a company and found out that the CEO is a thieving sellout, I’d be spitting on the floor on my way out of the office.
If I were a streaming service and found out my shows were constructed on the works of theft, I’d be taking them down and taking legal action against the agent.
If I were in a marriage to a person who cheats like this, I’d be wondering what else are they cheating in… The marriage maybe?
If I bought a book and found out it was stolen goods, I’d be handing it into police.
If I were a fan of a writer and found out that she steals the work of aspiring writers, I’d never read another word she writes.
Alas, I’m none of these things, I’m merely a struggling aspiring writer, with a disability and dyslexia, and going through the most difficult period of my life. Knowing all of this, A very powerful and influential literary agent has taken my 10 years of trauma writing and dished it out in Shark Tank writing rooms, and he has given it to his female pet-writer to rape into a book she was commissioned to write by a global powerhouse company.
I can promise that the literary industry will be rocked to its core when this gets out. I promise that news outlets that the literary agent wrote articles for, will be writing articles about his deception.
Snakes always disguise themselves as virtuous people. I can tell you that this snake will try all types of passive aggressive blaming, and victim humiliating and even claiming to be a victim. I’ve met people like this before.
Be careful who you share your work with.
Be careful who you commission work to.
Be careful who you read.
Be careful who you work for.
Be careful who you share your bed with.
Be careful who you eat with.
Be careful who you lift a glass with.
People who do this are not good to be around. Think about the wider implications of being around these people. Is this what you want to be?
