The power of fright is sublime, but too much fright can fracture a mind!
The turn of a century brings forth great uncertainty and worry. With it, gothic literature thrives. Around the turn of the 18th to 19th century was perhaps the most hellish epoch in history. At a time when the whole world seemed to be insane and very little was known about mental illness, Robert Knox’s struggles began.
As an apprentice apothecary, Knox was well studied in medicine and mind. This coupling was the catalyst to much of his troubles and pains. His trauma and the vices he used to mask his suffering, obliterated his perception of the world. His journey exposed the true nature of humanity and the conflict inside us all.
This conflict is more prevalent and proliferating in the world today than it was in Robert Knox’s day. This book is a warning to the world- the darkness, the cheaters, the Satanists will prevail if we allow evil to contaminate our minds.
Robert Knox’s struggle to deal with past events (PTSD) devours his lucidity and leads him to a world of pain and confusion, a world of substance and alcohol abuse. A world of mental illness and torture, raving madness and melancholia and everything between and beyond. A fictional nightmare set within a factual historical hell.
